About industrie

Thermocouple & Pt100 RTD Manufacturer in South Africa

Thermocouple Products (Pty) Ltd is a South African manufacturer of temperature sensors, based at 10 Edendale Road West, Eastleigh, Edenvale, Gauteng. Established in 1992, the company designs and manufactures thermocouples, Pt100 platinum resistance detectors (RTDs), thermowells, protection sheaths and thermocouple extension cables for industrial process measurement, and supplies associated instrumentation including temperature controllers, indicators, transmitters and calibrators.

What we manufacture

Thermocouple Products manufactures temperature sensors to order in South Africa,
from the highest quality components available. The range covers:

Thermocouple
A thermocouple is a temperature sensor made from two conductors of dissimilar metals joined at one end, which generates a small voltage proportional to the temperature difference between the measuring junction and the reference junction.
F6212401-01
RTD is a temperature sensor that measures temperature by the change in electrical resistance of platinum, which has a nominal resistance of 100 ohms at 0°C.
Mica Band Heater
A mica band heater is an electric heating element designed to clamp around cylindrical surfaces—such as barrels, pipes, and nozzles—to deliver uniform heat through conduction.
Ceramic Band Heater
A ceramic band heater is a high-temperature electric heating element designed to wrap around cylindrical surfaces such as barrels, pipes, and nozzles to provide uniform, controlled heat.
Cartridge Heating Element
A cartridge heating element (or cartridge heater) is a tube-shaped, heavy-duty industrial electric heating component designed primarily for insertion into drilled metal holes to provide localized, high-density contact heating.
Incoloy Heating Elements
Incoloy heating elements are electric heating components encased in an outer sheath made from Incoloy a high-performance superalloy composed primarily of nickel, iron, and chromium
Supercoil Heating Element
A supercoil heating element is a compact, high-watt-density industrial coil heater engineered to deliver high temperatures in tight, confined spaces.
Ceramic Withdrawables
Ceramic withdrawables (often referred to as ceramic withdrawable heating elements or bobbin heaters) are industrial electric heating units designed for easy removal and replacement.
Over-The-Side (OTS) Immersion Heaters
In industrial and chemical processing, an Over-The-Side immersion heater is an electric heating unit designed to be installed through the open top of a tank or vessel rather than through drilled side walls
NFG Cables
NFG Cable stands for Nickel Core Fiberglass cable, a specialized high-temperature wire designed to operate safely in extreme heat environments.

    General Questions

    01. Why buy from a local manufacturer?

Because Thermocouple Products manufactures in Edenvale rather than importing finished sensors, customers can order non-standard lengths, sheath materials, process connections and terminations without minimum-order quantities or import lead times. Any design in the catalogue can be modified, and individual components can be purchased separately so that customers can build their own sensor assemblies.

Thermocouple Products supplies temperature sensors to process industries across South Africa, including power generation, petrochemical and chemical processing, steel and metals, foundries and heat treatment, cement and glass, food and beverage, pharmaceutical manufacturing, plastics and injection moulding, mining and mineral processing, and laboratory and calibration facilities.

Choosing between a thermocouple and a Pt100 RTD depends on temperature range, required accuracy, response time and environment. As a general guide, Pt100 RTDs offer higher accuracy and stability below approximately 600\u00b0C, while thermocouples cover a far wider range, up to 1 700\u00b0C and above and respond faster.
